Born and raised in Miami Fl, Sahara Munoz began her artistic journey at Ballet et cie under the direction of Olga Valdes. She attended South Miami Middle Schools Magnet Dance Program where she was introduced to various styles and aspects of dance such as classical ballet, jazz, hip-hop, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, modern, and Afro Cuban. She also attended South Miami Senior High Schools Magnet Dance Program, graduating as a member of the National Dance Honor Society and the Cobra Charmers dance team.
In her professional career she has had the privilege to be featured on local T.V shows such as "Sabado Gigante", "Dimelo Bailando", and has worked with Telemundo and Universion Productions. In 2007, Sahara was also selected to participate in the National Dance Festival in Norfolk Virginia which included rigorous training in dance techniques such as improvisation, composition, and repertoire, just to name a few. She has had the opportunity to be lead and taught by prestigious dance companies in New York City such as, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Paul Taylor's Dance Company, and Camp Broadway Dance Center.
At the young age of 18, Sahara Munoz began working with New Century Dance Company, one of the most prestigious entertainment companies in the country, under the direction of Alexandra Silva and choreographers Bettina Silva and Ruddy Sanchez. With New Century, Sahara has had the honor to perform in many commercial and industrial events taking her all around the country. She also initiated and produced with the help of Mrs.Diaz-Almaraz a dance showcase titled "Dancing for a Cure", a dance concert to honor, remember, and fight for all those lives touched by cancer. All the funds collected from the show Sahara donates to a cancer related organization, she has worked with The American Cancer Society and Stand Up to Cancer in order to make this amazing cause a reality. This incredible cause is an annual event in the South Miami community and Sahara hopes to expand it each and every year throughout the entire community.
Her years of experience and training have served as a platform for her talent as a choreographer and guest teacher at many local dance studios and schools in Miami. Her dream to own and produce her very own performing arts empire will soon become a reality as she currently purses her studies at Miami Dade College.
