Heydi Pinero was born in Havana, Cuba. She began her training at the School Alejo Carpentier at the age of 8. At the age of 14, she joined the National School of Ballet at the Garcia Lorca Theater where she was chosen for intensive training to become a Ballet, Modern and “Character Dances” instructor, participating in a variety of national and internationals events in Havana. She graduated with honors from the National School of Ballet and became a “Character and Ballet Instructor” at The Havana’s National School of the Arts where she helped develop young talents in the art of dance.
Heydi danced for the National Spanish Ballet of Havana where they combined classical ballet with Flamenco Dance. She has danced in productions such as
La Fille Mal Gardee, Bayadera, Coppelia, The Nutcraker ,
Divertimento(modern), AIDA (Full Production) with the Florida Grand Opera in Miami, Florida, and performed The
Witches of Salem with the “Ballet Flamenco La Rosa”, a professional flamenco company in South Florida. Heydi performed for three years at the Raue Center for the Arts as a guest artist with The Berkshire Ballet Theatre in Chicago.
Heydi also worked for four years as a Ballet Mistress at The South West Florida Ballet where she taught Ballet, Point, Floor Barre, Modern Dance, Character Classes, and Variations. Heydi also trained and choreographed modern pieces for students to compete at The Grand Prix Ballet Competition and at The World Ballet Competition in Orlando Florida.
